Criterium Fun

Yesterday was a great morning for a crit. I took my two boys and they had some great fun. I was able to get a little video footage of the finish. When I watch it in slow motion on my computer it looks like TE took every spot but first. Next time, we'll get him. Great job guys!

Thanks for the finish video Targhee!

The BDO crit was a great showing for TE. 6 of the 13 riders in the men's Cat 5 class were TE riders, 4 of whom had not raced a crit before. Ben Towery, Casey Marker, Kevan Steed, Jerald Olsen, Kirk Johnson and Troy Headley all represented.

After the start it didn't take long for us to realize that Team Excelerator would be doing all the work for the 30 minute crit.

TE took turns up front. The first prime lap came early on and saw Casey make a good effort for the intermediate prize. He was edged out at the line, but proved TE was serious.

For the second prime lap, TE set up Ben Towery nicely and he was able to win the sprint and a nice set of carbon shoes.

Afte more frustrating laps leading the group around the track, the sprint for the finish took shape. Ben and Casey finsihed 2nd and 3rd, just getting beat in the last few hundred feet.

Casey indeed proved he's a contender and Ben got the redemption he saught from a week ago. Kevan and Kirk made the top ten. Jerald suffered a rare cleat blowout and Troy made a valiant effrt and finished his first crit strong.

Thanks to everyone who was there to support us. It was a ton of fun and we all look forward to more great podium days ahead.
